| Chinese Imperial Shih Tzu Shih Tzu breeders have long been aware of the Imperials. They noticed puppies in the litters, or an entire litter, that were not quite the same as the others. Far from being 'runts', these little babies had short bodies, larger eyes, very tiny high domed heads, longer legs. When I began breeding almost 20 years ago, the ones under 6 pounds were called Imperials, and the ones 6 to 10 pounds were called tinys. Breeders who particularly liked these babies began keeping the tiny ones under nine pounds from many different litters, and then breeding them to other tiny ones that were not related, but kept from another litter. This has greatly strengthened the gene pool for the Imperials, or Imps as they have lovingly come to be called. After much hard work, all of our Imperials here at the Farm weighing under 8.5 pounds have now been weight, height and confirmation certified to be Chinese Imperials. All of this information was sent to the Certified Pet Registry and Tammy, one of the owners of this great registry certified all of our Chinese Imperials as true to form and confirmation. She has also stated I am the first IMP breeder in the nation to accomplish this arduous task. We are very proud of our IMPS that are from our exclusive Tiny Dancer Bloodlines. OUR IMPS ARE ROYALTY INDEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
